Late Maura McDermott, Killadream, Loughduff, Cavan
The death occurred peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2023 of Maura McDermott, from Killadream and Esker Lodge Nursing Home, Cavan surrounded by her loving family.
Maura was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Bridget, and is sadly missed by her sister (Kathleen) Patsy, her brother Tommy, Lena, cousins, neighbours and a wide circle of friends to whom we extend our sincere sympathy.
Maura suffered from Multiple Sclerosis from her mid 20s and in later years lived in Esker Lodge where she was very well cared for and made many great friends.
Although not living in our midst Maura had a keen interest in sport and followed the fortunes of the local football teams.
She was always up-to-date with current affairs and really enjoyed visits and chats with family and friends and her sense of humour always came to the fore when there was a story to be told.
Her remains reposed at Reilly’s funeral home, Kilcogy on Monday evening and funeral was on Tuesday, January 2 in Our Lady of Lourdes church, Mullahoran, where Fr P J officiated and burial followed to local cemetery.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
