Mullahoran saddened by death of great footballer and highly respected former Garda

Late Oliver (Ollie) McEnerney, Whitehall, Dublin / Cavan

The death took place suddenly on Saturday, July 20 of Oliver (Ollie) McEnerney, Whitehall, Dublin and formerly of Freeduff, Kilcogy.

Deceased was a former member of An Garda Siochana based in Pearse Street, Dublin.

He is fondly remembered as a great footballer with Ballymachugh lining out with his brothers in the ‘Twins’ field and he also played with the Gardai teams.

He was highly respected by his work colleagues and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He was predeceased by his brothers Eamonn and Seamus and sister Margaret and is survived by his loving wife Dorothy, daughter Gillian and sons Hugh and Ross, son-in-law David, daughter-in-law Fiona, grandchildren Ruby and Evie, brothers John, Martin and Mel, sisters Nan and Frances , brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours to whom we extend our sincere sympathy.

His remains reposed at his home on Friday, July 26 and following mass on Saturday morning in the Church of the Holy Child burial took place in Dardistown cemetery. Rest in peace.
