Mary Mulligan (née Mulligan), Breaghy, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully after a short illness, in her 94th year with her loving family by her side in the exceptional care of the staff of Mullingar General Hospital on Thursday, April 9 of Mary Mulligan (nee Mulligan) Breaghy, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford. Now re-united with her beloved husband James, cherished parents Patrick and Ellen (McCabe), infant daughter Eibhlin, son Gerard and daughter Siobhan (Dorman).

Much loved mother of Pat, Evelyn, Mairead (Comerford), Seamus, Hugh, Tom, Enda and Dermot. Greatly missed by her wonderful sons-in-law and daughters-in-law. Deeply loved by her adored grandchildren Samantha, Stephen, Aislinn, Ryan, Jack, Gearoid, Canice, Conor, Katie, Aoife, Claire, Orla, Fiona and Amy, and her great-grandchildren Robyn and Caolan. She will be fondly remembered by her extended family, friends, neighbours and all those who cared for her. ''Pray for me, as I will pray for thee until we meet in heaven''.

Reposing at Glennon's Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Saturday, April 11 from 4:30pm, concluding with prayers at 7pm. Mass of the Resurrection at Saint James Church, Clonbroney (N39 WN20) on Sunday, April 12 at 2pm, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Patricia Mary Dalton, Breany, Ardagh, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of Cluain Lir Care Centre, Mullingar with her loving family by her side on Friday, April 10, 2026 of Patricia Mary Dalton, Breany, Ardagh, Co Longford.

Reunited with her parents Larry and Bridget and her sister Josie. Patricia will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her sister Eileen Dolan and her husband Tony (Multyfarnham), her nieces Nuala & Deirdre and their husbands Adrian & Tim, grandnieces Erin and Ella, grandnephews Zak, Conor and Finn, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. 

May Patricia's Gentle Soul Rest In Peace. Reposing at Cluain Lir Chapel, Mullingar on Sunday, April 12 from 4pm until prayers at 5pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, April 13 at 11am in St Brigid's Church, Ardagh (N39 Y977) with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Paddy Madden, Park Road, Longford Town, Longford / Armagh

The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, April 10, 2026 of Paddy Madden, Park Road, Longford and formerly of Portadown, Co Armagh.

Pre-deceased by his parents Thomas and Veronica, sisters Elica and Joan, brother Eamon, son Rory, partner Denise and by his step-daughter Yvonne. Paddy will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, daughters Sinéad (Kilmeade), Orla and Simone, son Colm, sister Yvonne, Marian, Stephanie and Irene, brothers Denis, Fergal, Phelim and Thomas, grandchildren Deane, Jade, Gavin, Rory, Cora, Kyle, Abbie, Cian, Mia, Callum, Flynn and Bría, sons-in-law Eoin, Martin and Ben, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The death occurred surrounded by his family, in the wonderful care of the staff of Thomond Lodge Nursing Home, Ballymahon on Thursday, April 9, 2026 of Tom Charlie Nolan, Derryadd, Killashee, Longford. 

Predeceased by his parents Peter and Annie, and his sister Winnie. Tom will be fondly remembered by his brothers Paddy and Peter, sisters Nancy, Margaret, Jean, Kathleen, Helen & Irene, nephews, nieces, brothers in law, sisters in law, relatives, neighours and friends. May Tom Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Farrell's Funeral Home, Lanesboro (N39 E761) on Sunday, April 12 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, April 13 at 12 noon in St Patrick's Church, Killashee, followed by burial in Killashee Cemetery.

Noel Earley, Drumully, Emyvale, Monaghan, H18 XR61 / Granard, Longford

The death occurred ppeacefully at his home, with his family by his side after an illness bravely borne on Friday, April 10, 2026 of Noel Earley, Drumully, Emyvale, Co.Monaghan, H18 XR61 and formerly Cloughernal, Granard, Co Longford. 

Predeceased by his parents Mary and Frank, his brothers Michael and Tommy, nephew Kevin, brother in law John and sister in law Celia. Funeral leaving the family home on Sunday, April 12 at 12 noon for Funeral Mass in St Mary`s Church, Convoy at 12.30pm. Cremation afterwards in the Lakelands Crematorium. The death occurred peacefully in her 89th year, surrounded by her loving family in University Hospital Limerick on Thursday, April 9, 2026 of Patricia Nolan (nee Reilly), ‘Ashleigh’, Ardnacrohy, Newcastle West, Limerick and formerly of Drumboy, Mohill, County Leitrim. 

Predeceased by her parents Bernard and Catherine, brothers PJ and Bernie and sisters Mary and Phyllis. Patricia is deeply missed by her loving husband Richard, son Jerome, daughter Catherine, brother in law Joe, sisters in law Mary, Lily and Jane, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in Sligo University Hospital on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 of Sinead Dore, Killarkin, Leitrim village, Co Leitrim and formerly of Ardeskin, Donegal town. 

Sinead is deeply regretted and sadly missed by her heartbroken husband Pearse O’Looney and her adored daughters Alex and Toni. Predeceased by her father Robert (Bob), mother-in-law Lillian and her aunt Colette. Remembered with love by her mother Margaret, brothers Niall and Barry, father-in-law JJ, brothers-in-law Emmett and Cathal, sisters-in-law Yvonne, Chrissie, Lisa and Mary, aunt Ella-Marie, uncles Tom and James, aunts-in-law Celine and Susan, uncle-in-law Paddy, niece, nephews, cousins, relatives and a wide circle of neighbours and friends. Sinead will repose at her home in Leitrim village (N41 K721) on Friday, April 10 from 5pm to 8pm. (House private at all other times please). A shuttle bus will operate from Leitrim Gael’s GAA pitch. Please adhere to the steward's instructions.

Edward Joseph (Joe) McLoughlin, Maryland, USA / Corraslira, Strokestown, Co Roscommon

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Joseph (Joe) McLoughlin, Maryland, USA, and formerly of Corraslira, Strokestown, Co. Roscommon, suddenly at his residence on Sunday, March 22, 2026.

Joe is deeply regretted by his sister Maura Lundon, brother-in-law Denis, nieces Denise, Michelle, Catherine, Siobhán and Caitríona, nephews Dara and Brendan, extended family and friends. Joe is sadly missed and will be lovingly remembered by his family, relations and his many great friends in both Ireland and the USA.

Joe was widely known for his service with An Garda Síochána, his longstanding membership of the Knights of Columbus and membership of the Teamsters. Joe had a deep love of Irish music, history and culture. He will be forever remembered for his quiet strength, enduring faith, his generosity of spirit and his kindness to all who knew him.

Joe is predeceased by his parents Joe and Kate McLoughlin and his beloved sister Catherine. May Joe's gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Sr Thérése O’Neill, Townparks, Ballyhaise, Co Cavan

The death occurred peacefully in Birmingham Hospital aged 80 on Saturday, March 21, 2026 of Sr Thérése (Peggy) O’Neill, 94 Selly Park Road, Selly Park, Birmingham B297LL and formerly of Townparks, Ballyhaise, Co Cavan.

Predeceased by her parents Michael and Ellen O’Neill, sister Roisin (O’Reilly, Golf Links Road, Cavan), brother Paddy (Dublin), nephews Michael and Brian. Deeply regretted by sisters Eileen (McGovern, Legaginny, Ballinagh), Mary (Rafter, Newtownforbes), brother Michael (Ballyhaise), sisters-in-law Bridie (O’Neill, Ballyhaise), Teresa (O’Neill, Dublin), nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, friends and Sisters of The Charity of St. Paul, Selly Park Birmingham.
