Dundalk Institute to hold CAO Information Day

Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) will host an information session for students and families on Saturday 21st January in advance of the CAO application deadline.

The CAO information day is the last major student recruitment event before the standard CAO deadline closes on February 1st and it is open to school-leavers and their parents, students’ progressing from further education and mature applicants.

The focus of this on campus event is to help you understand and navigate your CAO application with the greatest of ease, a DkIT spokesperson said.

Staff from our admissions team, student services, academic courses and student ambassadors will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about CAO and completing your application.

In addition, students from Northern Ireland will receive specific guidance about completing their CAO application forms and DkIT staff will be available at the event to answer questions about entry criteria, student finance and more.

DkIT is one of the only Higher-Level Institutes in the Republic of Ireland to recognise and accept A-Levels and BTEC qualifications, or a combination of them both.

DkIT said it prides itself on being a fully inclusive college and is a participating institute in both the Higher Education Access Route (HEAR) and Disability Access Route to Education (DARE) which are nationally coordinated access schemes aimed at boosting equality in and access to Higher Education in Ireland.

Applications to the HEAR and DARE schemes must be made to CAO by February 1st, 2023, and a range of available informational resources about these schemes will be available during the DkIT CAO information day.

A DkIT spokesperson said the Institute has been at the forefront of delivering excellence in higher education to meet the academic, economic, social and cultural needs of the region for over 50 years and they are delighted to report that 97% of their graduates are in employment or further education within 12 months of graduating.

The Institute would align these graduate successes to their small classroom sizes and their dedicated and award-winning staff who supply high quality personalised and accessible education which is academically focused on practical work skills and employability, the spokesperson continued.
