The late John (Seán) McDonnell
Tributes have been pouring in for retired postman John (Seán) McDonnell of Knocknagoran, Omeath, Louth following his passing in St. Peter’s Nursing Home, Castlebellingham, February 19, 2025.
Messages of condolences and kind words have been left on Seán's rip.ie page by neighbours, friends and those he impacted on his rounds with his kindness.
One person said: "Sean will be fondly remembered by many in the community for his work as a postman which he carried out to the very highest standards. He was kind, discreet, gracious and hardworking. We are glad to have known him"

Another wrote: "He served the community in Omeath for many years and will be fondly remembered."
Another person said: "Rest in peace Sean. A lovely well known postman in Omeath."
John (Seán) McDonnell is the beloved son of the late Joseph and Catherine, step-son of the late Patsy Traynor, and brother of the late Joseph, William and Arthur. John will be sadly missed by his nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, relatives and friends.
Reposing at McGeoughs Funeral Home, Jocelyn Street, (A91 XW66) from 4pm until 7pm on Friday, February 21, 2025. Removal on Saturday morning, February 22, 2025 to St. Laurence's Church, Omeath arriving for Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in adjoining Cemetery.
