As part of an intelligence-led operation involving the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, Dundalk Divisional Drug and Detective Units, and Revenue Customs Service, Revenue officers seized 10kg of drugs with an estimated value of €700,000 in Dundalk, on Tuesday 12 August 2025.

Two people, a male in his 40s and a female in her 30s were arrested by An Garda Síochána following the seizure and are currently being detained in a Garda station in the North Eastern region under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Gardaí say investigations remain ongoing.

Revenue says that this seizure is part of its ongoing joint investigations involving organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs. If businesses, or members of the public, have any information regarding drug smuggling, they can contact Revenue in confidence on phone number 1800 295 295.
