Two hospitalised after road collision in Louth

The crash happened shortly before 11am on the R132 at Haggardstown and involved a motorcycle and a car

A man and a woman were taken to hospital following a collision in Haggardstown this morning.

The crash happened shortly before 11am on the R132 at Haggardstown and involved a motorcycle and a car.

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 40s, and the driver of the car, a woman in her 70s, were brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The road had opened by the afternoon and investigations are ongoing.

In a statement Gardai said: “Gardaí received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the R132 at Haggardstown, Co Louth, shortly before 11am on the 8th September 2025.

“The collision involved a motorcycle and a car.

“The motorcyclist, a male aged in his 40s, and driver of the car (female, 70s) were brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

“The road has since reopened.”
