Kia has taken the wraps off the new EV2 and EV4 which complete its electric vehicle line-up.
The EV2 is a compact crossover concept that will rival cars like the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser.
Its exterior design has a rugged appearance with vertical daytime running lights along with Kia’s ‘Star Map’ headlight design. The black plastic wheel arch covers and curved rear window give the car a bold presence.
Inside, the plastics used are made from sustainable materials, there is diagonal LED lighting on the door cards, and the triangular speaker covers are removable and portable – allowing passengers to change the position of where music comes from.
Kia has not revealed the EV2’s powertrains and battery packs at this stage.
The EV4, meanwhile, is available as a saloon or a hatchback and will come with a choice of a 58.3kWh or a larger 81.4kWh battery pack. Kia claims the former can travel up to 267 miles (saloon) and 255 miles (hatchback), while the latter can achieve up to 391 miles (saloon) and 367 miles (hatchback) on a single charge.
The EV4’s exterior design features vertical front headlights and flush door handles. While at the back, the saloon features a two-piece rear spoiler. The interior has a minimalist design and focuses on offering as much space as possible. The saloon variant offers up to 490 litres of boot space and the hatchback has 435 litres.
Prices and specifications for the EV4 are yet to be revealed with the car due to go on sale later this year. Further information for the smaller EV2 is set to follow.
