Man and woman due in court following the discovery of the body of missing Wexford man

Two people charged in connection with the death of Stephen Ring

A man aged in his forties and a woman in her thirties are due to appear before Wexford District Court this morning, Tuesday October 29.

The pair have been charged as part of the ongoing garda investigation following the discovery of a body in Carrigfoyle quarry.

Stephen Ring had been reported missing two weeks before his body was found in the quarry in Shelmalier Commons, Co. Wexford on Sunday October 27, 2024.

The twenty seven year old sustained multiple injuries in a fatal assault which gardaí believe occurred as part of a local dispute.

While the results of the post-mortem have not been released for operational reasons, gardaí have said they suspect he was killed in another location before his remains were moved to a body of water at Carrigfoyle quarry and subsequently dumped there.
