A young Irish woman tragically died while rock climbing in Malaga, Spain on Friday, 10 January.

The Spanish Civil Guard confirmed on Saturday evening that it was an Irish national who was killed after local press had initially reported that the victim was British.

The 21-year-old fell to her death after falling around 500ft at a popular rock climbing area near the village of El Chorro. She was with a male friend at the time of the incident, who also fell but thankfully survived.
