Social media users have reacted to the recent news that The 2 Johnnies shared directors' pay of almost €500,000 last year.

Accounts show that post tax profits at the pair’s Big Ball Small Ball Productions Ltd increased by 68% to €453,682 for the 12 months to the end of April last.

On popular social media platform X, formerly Twitter many user have had a mix of the comments on the topic some of which include:

"Well done the lads."

"Good! Delighted for them! Love them, or hate them, they work really hard. They deserve it all."

"More power to them."

"Pair of fools."

"Robbing a living."

The pair announced their decision to leave their RTÉ 2FM show last May to "lighten the workload" and have been having huge success with their podcast since.
Recently they released the third instalment of The GAA Catfish series, a story that captivated the nation in 2022. Almost three years on from when Johnny B was hoodwinked by Cora O’Donovan aka Nicki it seems nothing has changed for this serial catfisher.
The update to this unbelievable story has kept the country and indeed the world on tenterhooks. In just four short days the podcast has had over 2 million streams in Ireland and across the globe. The lads have been flooded with emails from people who claim to have been catfished by the GAA Catfish, some going back 15 years.

They have also heard from a number of women whose pictures were used as part of this elaborate fake world. Some of those women are considering next steps.

Since the episode national mental health charity Turn2Me is launching a free online support group for people who have been victims of catfishing.

The first session will take place on Wednesday, February 5, at 7pm, providing a safe, confidential, and supportive space for those who have been deceived by false online identities.

Those interested in joining can sign up for free at www.Turn2Me.ie.
