Man (30s) dies in tragic drowning incident in Cork

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a drowning incident that occurred in a river in Cork recently.

The incident occurred at in Mallow in Co. Cork on the evening of Wednesday May 21 2025 at approximately 7pm.

One male, aged in his 30s was recovered from the water by the fire service and pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removed to Cork University Hospital Mortuary where a post mortem will take place in due course.

A file will be prepared for the Coroner's Court, according to gardai.
