RIP: 'Didn't deserve to die'- Farmer Michael Gaine funeral announced as tributes rush in

Tributes have poured in for Michael (Mike) Gaine whose recent death has gripped the nation.

Michael's remains were discovered on his farm after he was reported missing for large number of weeks.

The funeral will be held at Finnegan’s Funeral Home Kenmare on Friday June 6 from 2pm, with Rosary at 7pm.

Arrival at Holy Cross Church, Kenmare at 9.30am on Saturday June 7 for 10.30am Requiem Mass.

He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his heartbroken wife Janice, sisters Noreen and Catherine, nieces Emma and Rachael, nephews Jamie and Mark, brother-in-law Seán, aunt Noreen (Fitzpatrick, Cork), his close friends DJ and Shane and his wide circle of loyal friends in the Farming and Rallying community and beyond, cousins, in-laws and extended family

Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew loved and cherished Michael and from those touched by his story, with one mourner writing,

"I’m in tears reading the family message. I’m so sorry for your loss. This has touched every farming community in Kerry and beyond. May Michael RIP. I hope people thinking of ye will help ye all."

Another message said, "My sincere condences to all the family at this tragic time. I was praying from the start that he would be found even to bring some sort of closure to you all. No family should have to go through what ye went through and will be going through for a life time. Prayers are being said for you all that you all get through this".

"Janice and the Gaine family i send my condolences to all of you. I cannot believe what Mike went through and what you are all going through. Mike was a sound man when i was in Kemare. A hard working salt of the earth man. He will be missed by you all. Mike rest in eternal peace," another person wrote.

"Condolences to Janice and family. Mike was a very decent man who didn't deserve to die like this. Mike you are reunited with your parents. Rest in eternal peace," another tribute read.
