Aldi offering redundancy packages to some staff in Ireland amid 'restructure'
Aldi have issued a short statement on reported redundancies being offered to some staff in Ireland.
The German supermarket chain has confirmed it is undertaking a "restructure" of a small number of roles in its Irish operation.
This comes amid reports in Irish stores that area managers are being offered voluntary redundancy packages.
It is unclear whether or not other management roles will be offered the packages.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Aldi said: “To support our continued growth and to offer the best experience to our customers, we are consulting over proposals to restructure a small number of roles across the business.”
Aldi first came to Ireland in 1999 on Parnell Street in Dublin and at Westside Retail Park in Cork.
Since then, it has established 163 stores throughout the country and employs over 4,500 staff.
