RIP: Young man tragically killed following incident involving e-scooter in Dublin

Gardaí have confirmed on Monday that a young man who had been travelling on an e-scooter has passed away in hospital after he was involved in a serious road traffic incident in Dublin on Sunday, 15 June. 

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the incident shortly after 5pm on Sunday evening on the Cappagh Road in Finglas.

The man, aged in his 20s, was transported to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown to be treated for serious injuries. He since passed away.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to come forward, particularly anyone with camera or dashcam footage.

Any road users with camera or dashcam footage and were travelling in the area between Heathfield and Cappagh Hospital between 4.45pm and 5.05pm have been asked to make it available to gardaí.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 666 7000, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
