A "prolific shoplifter" has been arrested and refused bail in Louth after being found with thousands of euros worth of goods, suspected to have been the subject of thefts from various retail stores.
On Thursday, June 26, members from the Community Engagement section of Drogheda Garda station arrested a man with goods on his person.

Upon inspection, gardaí believe these items were stolen from a variety of retailers across Louth. Along with this, the now seized goods are estimated to be €4,500 in value.
The suspect was brought before Drogheda District Court the following day, where he was refused bail.
He was also charged in connection with crimes committed in other Garda districts such as Galway, Newbridge, Kildare, Athlone and Dundalk.
