The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has issued a public notice regarding a variety of pre-prepared Bacon & Cabbage dinners

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland is advising consumers across the country that various branded Bacon & Cabbage Dinners produced by Ballymaguire Foods have been recalled amid health concerns.

In a public notice it says the decision has been made due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes.

Symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes infection can include mild flu-like symptoms, or gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. In rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications. 

Retailers have been requested to remove the implicated Bacon & Cabbage Dinners from sale and to display recall notices at point-of-sale.  

The products are widely available in stores across the country and the recall applies to all pack sizes, all batch codes and all use by dates.

The specific products impacted are:

Centra Bacon & Cabbage Dinner
From The Farm Bacon & Cabbage Dinner
Good Food Bacon & Cabbage Dinner 
SuperValu Bacon & Cabbage Dinner 
Tesco Bacon & Cabbage Dinner 

Wholesalers and distributors are requested to contact their affected customers and recall the implicated Bacon & Cabbage Dinners and provide a point-of-sale recall notice to their retailer customers.  

Caterers should not use the implicated Bacon & Cabbage Dinners and consumers are advised not to eat the implicated Bacon & Cabbage Dinners.
