Carrick-on-Suir Lions Club honours its Peace Poster competition winners

Cathaoirleach of Carrick MD Cllr David Dunne, Pat Murphy of Carrick Lions Club, overall winner of the Peace Poster art competition Lexi Norris and Carrick Lions Club President Brian White.

Certificates and vouchers were presented to the winners of the Carrick-on-Suir Lions Club heat of the International Peace Poster competition at a ceremony in the Nano Nagle Community Resource Centre's chapel on December 7.     

Lexi Norris from Piltown National School was the overall winner of the art competition, the theme of which was Lead with Compassion. Her entry has gone forward to the national final of the art competition. 

Prizes were also awarded for the best poster entry from each of the 12 primary schools in Carrick-on-Suir and its hinterland whose students submitted posters for the competition. The winning posters were exhibited at the Nano Nagle Centre for the prize giving ceremony.
