A fundraising concert at Carrick-on-Suir’s Nano Nagle Community Centre Chapel raised funds for the Solas Cancer Support Centre in Waterford.

Some incredibly talented local musicians and singers performed at the June 9 show led by singer Emma O’Keeffe with guests Neill Bourke, Mala Raggett, Richie Nugent and Dermot Keyes, accompanied by Dr Marion Ingoldsby on piano.

It was a wonderful display of Emma’s beautiful voice accompanied by her amazing guests. The list of music she chose spanned a variety of genres and each song was introduced detailing composers, the inspiration behind it and the story that unfolded.

The songs were sourced from musicals such as Miss Saigon, Chess, Man of La Mancha, Phantom of The Opera and there were also pieces selected from Mozart. The concert was organised by Haven Pharmacy pharmacist Dr Sabine Eggers, who booked the venue and liaised with all the performers.

Ger Casey videoed the concert and Carrick Library printed the tickets. They along with all involved with the production provided their services and talent free of charge.

The organisers thank all who attended the concert, all the musicians and singers and everyone involved in any way to make this a joyful night.

The Solas Cancer Support Centre is based at Williamstown, Waterford and can be contacted at (051) 304604 or email: info@solascentre.ie
