Imperium Showcase, a Clonmel Cabaret featuring pole dance, an aerial hoop, burlesque and drag performances will be staged in the ballroom at The Coachman, Parnell Street, Clonmel next Friday night, July 28.

Hosted by Mia Carney, the event will feature performances by Velvet Moon, Miss L, Foxy, Stacey Spykes, Boo Boo Opsie, Miss Felicity Ferrox, Victoria and Lunar Kitty.

Also performing will be Phoenix, Royal Slay, Genevieve Diamonds, Bella Anteres, Michelle Malone, Kenny Todgers, Katherine O’Gorman, Sofia King Good, Bombshell Ghuleh and Fiona Lawless.

Organiser Tara O’Reilly says “the back of The Coachman was a cabaret venue back in the day.

“We’ll be taking it back to that and doing a fabulous cabaret, with the theme around the quintessential cabaret you would have seen back then, including jazzy music, pin-up style, classic burlesque.

“However, we’ll put our modern twist on it featuring pole dance, aerial hoop and drag, along with burlesque.

“It’s a joy to bring something like this into town. When Madame Butterfly was shown in the cinema a few years ago it brought so many people out who never get to go out in Clonmel because there’s nothing suitable.

“Although we’ve had absolutely zero support from local arts authorities, we have found our own way and nothing will stop us.

“This event is going to be very tasteful and artistic, so people who have doubts or want to turn a blind eye and make it out to be something sleazy when it’s not at all will miss out big time”.

Tara says the amount of local performers joining them for the show is “amazing”.

“To be able to give them an opportunity to do what they love in a really fun and supportive environment, where their friends and family get to see them, brings me so much joy.

“This is what gave us back our confidence and gave us a passion that motivates us to be artistic contributors to the town.

“We see so many burlesque clubs and shows taking Europe by storm so let’s use our skills to open up Clonmel to that hidden gem!”

Tickets at just €10 are available to purchase online via the social media pages, both Facebook and Instagram under Imperium Showcase.

They can also be purchased on the door.
