Members of the Multeen Players who bring their latest production to the stage starting on November 30
The Multeen Players are back with another hilarious comedy “Widows Paradise” by Sam Cree directed by Jim Keane. This is a 3 Act comedy set in the 1960's. The action of the play takes place in a "luxury" caravan with 5 ladies embarking on a "strictly women only" holiday. Ruby (played by Anne Tegerdine) is a strong-willed widow with a decided distaste for all men, and is adamant to make the other 4 ladies follow her lead and write-off the opposite sex for a life of peace and tranquility.
Her three musketeers follow somewhat bewildered with the quest - Lucy (played by Mairead Forgarty) is a ditzy loveable character who must hide her never-ending faith in finding true love. Vanessa, another widow (played by Kate Maher) is comically only interested in the finer things in life but has she an agenda of her own in taking this trip?
Then we have Rachel, (played by Laura Cahill) a relationship lightweight, who's overall fear of men make her one of the most entertaining characters thown into the female mix. These 4 self-confessed "Widows" are followed by Rubys gorgeous young daughter Sylvia (played by Louise Heffernan) who has been taken along on the trip to learn from their mistakes.....
A subsequent case of "mistaken caravan identity" sees the "Widows Paradise" thrown into disarray with the arrival of no nonsense alpha-male Harry (Kieran Slattery), his dim-witted side-kick Ernie (played by Bob Russell) and Harrys handsome young son Alan (played by John Kennedy). Also starring Willie Heney as John McGonigle and John Cash as Wilfred McNeilly what was supposed to be a scene of peace and tranquility turns into a riotous clash of the sexes, each with their own story to tell!
Widows Paradise will be performed for 4 nights from the 30th of November to the 3rd of December at 8pm nightly in Knockavilla Hall tickets are €10 and can be purchased from Heffernans shop Dundrum, Butler’s Centra Dundrum by calling 0877934071 or by logging onto gr8events.ie. This is a must see comedy and tickets are selling fast.
