Firms advised on how to avoid online fraud at information day at county Tipperary bank

An information day advising businesses about how to avoid becoming the victim of online fraud took place at the Bank of Ireland branch in Carrick-on-Suir on Thursday, April 25.

The Fraud Smart Information Day was hosted by Bank of Ireland with the assistance of An Garda Síochána.

Tipperary/Clare Garda Division Crime Prevention Officer Sergeant John McCormack and Garda Andrew Kiely were joined by members of Bank of Ireland’s Fraud Team in giving a fraud awareness presentation to the bank’s business customers.

“The presentation was to ensure customers were made more aware and conscious of the pitfalls and risks of using online websites/banking when conducting their business,” said a Garda spokesman.
