New Garda Crime Prevention Officer is appointed for county Tipperary

Sgt John McCormack, who is Tipperary's new Garda Crime Prevention Officer

Sergeant John McCormack has been appointed Crime Prevention Officer for the Tipperary Division following the retirement of Sergeant Tom O’ Dwyer, who served in the role for a number of years.

John takes over the role of Crime Prevention Officer having been the Sergeant In Charge of Thurles Garda Station and Community Policing Sergeant in the District. He is well known in the community and looking forward to meeting people on the ground.

In his new role John hopes to encourage, promote and advise on Crime Prevention in both private and business communities.
