Two drivers due in court after checks by Tipperary Gardaí during 'multiagency' probe in Nenagh

Two motorists are set to face court appearances after being stopped by gardaí at a checkpoint in Co Tipperary.

The Tipperary Roads Policing Unit and Nenagh District Gardaí carried out a multi-agency checkpoint with Customs Officers in the Nenagh District on Wednesday.

Tipperary RPU intercepted a vehicle trying to avoid the checkpoint, and discovered the driver driving on a cancelled insurance policy.

It was also discovered that the car had no NCT or tax. Gardaí seized the vehicle shortly after the check.

In a separate incident, Customs Officers detected a vehicle using incorrect fuel during their checks.

Gardaí said in a post online that both motorists "will be facing a court appearance".
