The old adage that goals win games certainly held true at a foggy New Inn on Tuesday night as Galtee Rovers ran out easy winners over the Rockwell Rosegreen combination in the semi final of the Ollies Bar New Inn West Under 21B Hurling championship.
Three goals inside the opening ten minutes, two from full forward Eoin Halpin and one from Robert Moloney, got the Bansha side off to the perfect start and from which the home side never recovered.
All through, Halpin was a thorn in the side of the combination defence finishing the game with 4.5 to his credit, with 4.2 coming from open play.
Colin Bourke was the mainstay of the combination attack and finished with 1.6 to his credit, the goal coming five minutes before the break. Rovers led by 5.4 to 1.4 at half time, with Bill Quirke chipping in with 1,1.
After the break, Galtee took up where they left off with Halpin again the scorer in chief, while Colin Bourke, Podge Quinlan and Patrick Colville all tried hard for the home side but were unable to contain the strong Galtee side.
Galtee Rovers now meet Lattin Cullen Gaels in the Final.
