Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tankers and to boil water before consumption as per HSE advice.

Uisce Éireann’s John Fogarty has assured customers that every effort is being made to restore a full water supply as quickly as possible.

Repairs are expected to be completed by 10pm today, Monday, 27 October.

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.

To ensure the safety of the crews carrying out the repairs to the burst and the safety of the public, traffic management will be in place and will be clearly signposted.

Separately customers in parts of Tipperary Town will experience restrictions on Sunday night 26 October and Monday night 27 October.

The restrictions apply to customers in Avondale Court, St. Michaels Avenue, St Ailbe’s Drive, James Connolly Park, Roselawn, Fr, Matthew Court, Rossmore Village, Fr Matthew Street.

They will be in place from 10pm each night to 7am the following morning in an attempt to reduce usage and maintain a daytime supply.

The restrictions are being introduced due to low reservoir levels at Fanagowan Water Treatment Plant.
