RIP: Tributes paid to Tipperary man - 'a complete gentleman who was always great company'

The death has occurred of James Landers, Clarke Villas and late of College Avenue, Clonmel, Tipperary.

James died peacefully on Monday 16 March 2026 at his home, surrounded by his family. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Sharon, daughters Aoife and Shauna, grandchildren Cayden, Priya and Aylamae, sons in law David and Tom, mother Joan, brothers John and Derek, sisters Lizzy, Mary and Siobhan, uncles, aunts, brothers in law, sister in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at John O’Donoghue and Sons Funeral Home, Kickham Street, Clonmel on Thursday evening from 5 pm to 7 pm. Requiem Mass will take place on Friday at 1 pm in SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Clonmel, followed by a private cremation service at The Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy, Co Cork.

Condolences

Tributes have been paid to James and messages of sympathy have been shared with his family.

One person wrote, “Deepest sympathy to the Landers family and extended families on the sad passing of James. Thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. May he rest in peace.”

Another said, “I was so sorry to hear the sad news of James passing. My deepest condolences to Sharon, Aoife and Shauna and to all family and friends. May James rest in peace.”

Another message read, “Deepest sympathy to all the family and extended families at this very sad time. May James rest in peace in the arms of the angels. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers.”

Another tribute said, “My sincere condolences to Sharon, Shauna and Aoife and all of James’s family. So sorry to hear of his passing. Thinking of you all at this very sad time. Rest in peace James.”

Another person shared, “Our deepest condolences to Sharon, Aoife, Shauna and the Landers and Fraher families. James was a complete gentleman who was always great company and a pleasure to spend time with while walking the countryside. We are glad to have known him. May he rest in eternal peace.”
