A commemorative sliotar made from wood celebrating Tipperary’s 2025 All-Ireland Senior Hurling title win was one of the pieces that earned a Carrick-on-Suir woodturner an award from his peers in the craft.
Tom Larkin from Cregg, Carrick was awarded first prize in the annual Craobh Eo Woodturning Seminar in Swinford in Mayo.
He produced a full size soccer ball in beech and mahogany and a sliotar made from one piece of cherry wood inscribed with the 2025 winning Tipperary senior hurling panel and result.
