Roscrea friends will tackle Kilimanjaro to support the Dean Maxwell nursing home

The Roscrea trio Audrey Driver, Collette Ryan and Nikita Conlon will begin their climb on February 18

A team of three Roscrea based friends and experienced climbers plan to tackle Africa's highest mountain next week to raise funds in aid of the Dean Maxwell Community Nursing Home.

Audrey Driver, Nikita Conlon and Collette Ryan will climb the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro on Februrary 18.

The trio will jet off to Tanzania this week to conquer the very difficult mountain and have captured the imagination of everyone in Roscrea and surrounding areas.

More than 50% of the climbers who who brave the climb suffer from mountain sickness, as Kilimanjaro is an extreme altitude mountain trek. Measuring 19,341 feet, or 5,895 meters, the Roscrea team have been working hard training to prepare for their climb of the mountain known as 'Kili'.

You can donate to their campaign on the GoFundMe website and help them reach their €2,000 target.
