Knockout lineup to be decided in Offaly Intermediate Hurling Championship

Knockout lineup to be decided in Offaly IHC

Carrig-Riverstown are into the IHC semi-finals

The knockout lineup will be decided in the Intermediate Hurling Championship when the final round of group games take place on Saturday.

The four games take place at the same time on Saturday with the top team in each group making the semi-finals and the next two into the quarter-finals.

Group 1 is reasonably clearcut. Drumcullen and Coolderry are definitely through with four points from two games and the winner of their clash will go into the semi-finals – a draw will do Drumcullen as they have the better scoring difference. St Rynagh's and Belmont have no point and the winner of their game goes into the quarter-final with the loser into the relegation play off – a draw will be enough for Rynagh's as they have a better scoring difference

In group 2, Carrig-Riverstown are definitely through to the semi-finals with four points from two games – even if they lose to Seir Kieran this Saturday, they will stay ahead of Edenderry or Shinrone on the head to head rule. Shinrone and Edenderry are also in the quarter-finals with two points from two games.

Last year's beaten finalists, Seir Kieran have none from two games. A win over Carrig-Riverstown will put them on two points but even that can't save them. The loser of Shinrone and Edenderry will stay on two points but in this scenario, head to head results will decide and Seir Kieran have lost to both.

This Saturday's games are all at 3pm.
