The weather forecast for Ireland for the weekend from Met Eireann is for the weather to be very mild for the time of year in the short term. 

However according to Met Eireann, it will be a little cooler early next week with temperatures returning closer to the seasonal normal, though becoming milder again at times through the week. It'll be changeable, with some rain or showers at times, but drier brighter weather at times too. Winds will ease for a time early in the week, but it'll become breezy or windy again.

According to Met Eireann, it will be generally cloudy today with a little light rain, drizzle and mist at times, but plenty of dry weather overall. It will be relatively mild for December with highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees, in mostly light to moderate south to southwest winds, freshening later.

Mostly cloudy and becoming breezier tonight and while there'll be a lot of dry weather, there'll be a little light rain or drizzle mainly in the west and north. Little change from daytime temperatures, with lows of 7 to 10 degrees, in moderate to fresh south to southwest winds, stronger in coastal parts of the west and north.

According to Met Eireann, Saturday will be mostly cloudy, but it will be mainly dry. There'll just be a little patchy light rain or drizzle at times. A breezy day with moderate to fresh and gusty southwest winds, strong in some coastal parts. Continuing mild with highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees.

Continuing mostly cloudy with a little patchy drizzle on Saturday night and with the chance of more persistent and at times heavy rain, mainly for parts of Connacht and Ulster. It will be breezy or windy with fresh to strong and occasionally gusty south to southwest winds, the winds strongest in coastal parts of the west and northwest. Staying mild with temperatures not falling below 9 to 12 degrees.

SSunday is likely to be cloudy with the chance of some rain in Connacht and Ulster and maybe west Munster too, possibly heavy at times, but drier elsewhere with just a little patchy drizzle. Very mild again with highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees and it will be breezy or rather windy for a time with fresh to strong south to southwest winds, decreasing a little later.

Cloudy with some scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle on Sunday night, most persistent in the west and north. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in moderate or fresh south to southwest winds.

According to Met Eireann, it looks like Monday will be mostly cloudy for a time with some scattered outbreaks of mostly light rain and drizzle. The rain will most likely become confined to parts of Munster and south Leinster later. Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees in moderate to fresh southwest winds, veering westerly and decreasing mostly light to moderate.

There's likely to be rain in parts of Munster and south Leinster on Monday night, possibly heavy at times. Staying mild in the south, but turning cooler elsewhere with clear spells and a scattering of showers, these mainly in parts of the north and northwest. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees generally, but 8 to 10 degrees in southern parts. Winds will decrease light to moderate westerly, with perhaps a touch of frost across the northern half of the country.

There's the possibility of heavy rain for a time in the morning on Tuesday in southern parts. The rain will clear away southeastwards, with cooler, brighter conditions elsewhere following. There's the likelihood of a scattering of showers too, especially in the north and west. Highest afternoon temperatures of 7 to 9 or 10 degrees in light to moderate west to northwesterly winds, freshening later in the north and west.

Tuesday night: There'll be some clear spells, but its likely to become cloudier through the night with some scattered outbreaks of rain. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 6 degrees early in the night, but becoming milder overnight. Becoming breezy too with moderate to fresh westerly winds, stronger in the north and in western coastal parts.

Wednesday will a breezy day and its likely to be mostly cloudy with some scattered outbreaks of rain. Milder than Tuesday, with highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees.
