Busy times ahead for Gaelscoil na Laochra in Birr

Work has been ongoing of the site of the new school for a number of months

THERE will be a very busy few months ahead for Gaelscoil na Laochra in Birr as they prepare to move to their new premises on the Tullamore Road, early in the new year.

After many years, they will finally have their permanent home, a state of the art new school building with fantastic modern facilities.

2024 will bring some new additions to what the school offers such as a new ASD classroom and a free hot meal service for all pupils. The co-educational school has a wide variety of additional activities such as VEX robotics, swimming, cycling, hurling and gaelic football.

The school did particularly well in the recent athletics competitions organised by Offaly Sports Partnerships and were joint winners of the football Cumann na mBunscol competition, alongside St Brendan's Primary School.

The school is well established in the town of Birr now and prides itself as being another option for parents as they consider schools for their children. An open day will be held in the new school in the new year also. For enquiries please call (087) 4394549 or visit the website www.gaelscoilnalaochra.com .
