A ROSCREA woman has been named as one of the inaugural Women of Ireland Award recipients in New York. The awards were presented on St Brigid's Day at the New York Irish Centre.
Musician, actress, comedian and writer, Fiona Walsh from Roscrea was one of the three recipients, along with Sinead Naughton and Corina Galvin.
Fiona is daughter of Marie and the late Michael Walsh, Carroll's Row, Roscrea. 2023 Rose of Tralee Roisin Wiley was MC for the celebration.
Three women were honoured on the night. Fiona Walsh received the Women of Ireland Cultural Leadership Award.
Sinead Naughton, who owns and operates a number of hospitality establishments in New York City, received the Women of Ireland Business Leadership Award.
American Express Global Business Travel Partner Corina Galvin received the Women of Ireland Community Leadership Award.
After receiving her award Fiona Walsh then turned DJ for the night and provided the musical entertainment for the occasion.
