Offaly motorsport whizz Alex Dunne was involved in a nasty crash during the FIA Formula 3 championship at Silverstone on Sunday.

The 18-year-old, who recently joined the McLaren academy, was shunted off the track and into the wall after two of his fellow drivers lost control of their cars and hit him.

Dunne was uninjured in the crash and was shown on camera moments after the incident on Sunday.

Dunne is currently making waves in the Formula 3 circuit and just three weeks ago picked up a podium finish at Barcelona. It was the first time an Irish driver made the podium in the prestigious F3 series.
