Pat Teehan with Jarlath Burns
OFFALY GAA will have to consider running the Junior Football “C” Competition on a knockout basis next year, a County Board meeting was told on Tuesday evening.
Competitions Control Committee secretary Pat Teehan told delegates that one third of the games, seven out of 21 have been conceded as walkovers this year and he said that a number of clubs lost interest after an opening round loss in their group of four.

He was not happy with clubs entering and not fulfilling fixtures, saying this was unfair on clubs who wanted games. Mr Teehan felt the groups of four has not worked and a knockout system with a second chance will have to be considered for next year.
