TULLAMORE & District Chamber of Commerce has announced the 2025 roll-out of its popular QUIDS shopping vouchers, encouraging the community to “use your loaf and keep the dough in town” by supporting local businesses throughout the year.

Chamber President Caroline Collins-Murphy said the vouchers continue to grow in popularity: “QUIDS are now a familiar part of Tullamore’s shopping culture. They work exactly like money and can be spent exclusively in participating outlets across Tullamore. They’re especially popular with employers rewarding staff, but they’re ideal at any time of year.”

The scheme, operated in partnership with Tullamore Credit Union, now includes over 100 local businesses—from grocery stores, boutiques, restaurants, and hotels to pharmacies, home-fuel suppliers, and sports and leisure outlets.

QUIDS are available in multiple denominations (€20, €50, €100 and more), making them flexible for personal gifts or corporate use.

Ms Collins-Murphy, who also serves as Deputy CEO of Tullamore Credit Union, highlighted that QUIDS remain one of the most tax-efficient rewards available under Irish Revenue rules in 2025.

Under the Small Benefit Exemption, employers can give employees up to €1,500 per year in vouchers completely free of Income Tax, PRSI, and USC.

This exemption can be used across one to five benefits in the year, provided the combined total does not exceed €1500. “With no commission or hidden fees, the QUIDS scheme provides excellent value for both employers and staff.”

The Chamber also extended its thanks to Roger Guiney of Dolan’s Pharmacy at the Bridge Centre, Tullamore, for generously hosting the launch of this year’s QUIDS campaign.

Ms Collins-Murphy acknowledged the support: “We are very grateful to Roger and the team at Dolan’s Pharmacy for enabling us to launch the QUIDS for the holiday season in their store. Dolan’s offers a fantastic range of Christmas gifts, and we are proud that they accept QUIDS as part of the scheme. Their support reflects the strong local spirit that keeps this initiative thriving.”

Ms Collins-Murphy stressed the broader impact on the town: “When people choose QUIDS, they’re choosing to support Tullamore jobs, retailers, and services. It ensures that money earned locally continues to circulate locally—something that matters more than ever in 2025.”

How to order QUIDS in 2025

QUIDS must be ordered in advance. Employers and individuals can do so by emailing info@tullamorechamber.com.

A full list of participating outlets is available at www.tullamorechamber.com. The Chamber is continuously accepting more local participating businesses into the scheme and updates will be available on their website.
