THE annual and very popular Esker Hills Golf Club to Augusta competitions will once again take place in April. Initially held to mark Shane Lowry's first appearance in the US Masters at Augusta several years ago, the competitions have become a stable for locals and visitors since then.

This year's competitions take part on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 10, 11 and 12. The entry fee is €35 for the singles stableford each day.

The unique format has proven a winner with competitors as they are paired with a golfer competing in the Masters and the combined score determines the prize winners.

Shane Lowry began his great career at Esker Hills before going onto international fame and he will be competing in the famed US course again.

Full catering is available at Esker Hills and bookings can be made by phoning 057 93559999 or 086 3423662
