A young dad from Hertfordshire has turned a simple eBay side hustle into a £6 million business transforming the gyms, workshops and showrooms of celebrities such as Jake Paul and Stacey Solomon.
Harry Harvey, 33, from Welham Green, Hertfordshire, is the founder of Garage Style LTD, a company that transforms ordinary garages into luxurious spaces.
From home gyms and workshops to showrooms for cars, Harry’s designs have captured the attention of high-profile clients with millions of followers around the world.
“Jake Paul was absolutely blown away by the transformation of his garage,” Harry told PA Real Life.
“He had two new supercars on the way and wanted a space worthy of them. The two-day makeover left him speechless, and it was filmed for both our social media and Jake’s YouTube channel. His reaction was incredible.”
The company’s journey began long before Harry’s celebrity collaborations however, during his apprenticeship at a car manufacturing company.
Despite the stability of his full-time job, Harry’s entrepreneurial drive could not be contained.
“I’d get all my work done but I couldn’t stop thinking of ideas to build a business of my own,” he said.
While working full-time, Harry began helping his dad sell crafting kits at village fairs and listing products, such as miscellaneous “hobby related items and bike parts”, on eBay.
Soon, he was making enough money from his eBay side hustle to cover his mortgage.
“I’d package and post items while I was at work,” he said. “At one point, I had 1,500 items listed on eBay.”
In 2020, Harry decided to take the leap into full-time self-employment, teaming up with his uncle’s PVC tile manufacturing business, spotting a unique opportunity to use industrial tiles for something completely different – luxury garage makeovers.
“I knew people would want to take care of their vehicles and show them off in beautiful spaces,” Harry said.
He began creating bespoke car displays and posted about his work on Instagram.
Harry’s first major celebrity break came in 2017 when Yiannimize, a well-known car customiser with a million followers, shared Harry’s work.
“When he posted about us, our phones were ringing off the hook,” Harry said. “That’s when things really took off.”
Justin Bieber’s family also reached out through Instagram in 2024, kicking off a high-profile partnership.
“It all happened through social media – a surprise message from Justin’s dad asking if we could help with his flooring. Just like that, we were working with A-listers,” Harry said.
Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash also enlisted Harry’s help with a garage makeover, with a personalised “Pickles Gym” logo incorporated into the design.
“Joe worked on designs with us, and Stacey was very complimentary. She loved the ‘Pickles Gym’ logo tiles,” Harry added.
Harry’s celebrity clients are part of a growing list that includes Alison Hammond, Dan Osborne, and Jacqueline Jossa, but while the fame and fortune involved in working with celebrities has its perks, Harry remains focused on his mission to make luxury garage makeovers accessible to everyone.
“Celebrity projects come with added pressure,” he said.
“Being on camera and filming for social media adds extra scrutiny. But we treat all clients the same, and we’ve gotten used to being filmed explaining our work.”
One of Harry’s most unusual celebrity requests came last summer when international DJ DMO contacted him for a project in Dubai.
“He called and asked if we could do his garage in Dubai, ASAP,” Harry said.
“The next week, I was on a plane, landed in Dubai, laid his flooring, and flew back 24 hours later. It was a crazy experience, but that’s the fast-paced world we’re in now!”
The company’s success has not been limited to celebrity projects either – Harry has also secured professional contracts, including a significant project for Aston Martin.
“We’re now supplying our anti-static flooring to factories in the automotive and computer industries,” Harry said.
“The static-resistant tiles are perfect for environments where static could cause issues, like electric car production or microchip factories.”
Despite his success, Harry remains grounded.
“I work every day from 8am to 5pm, and in the evenings, I’m managing our social media accounts,” he said.
The businessman, who made £2 million last year, said: “It doesn’t stop, but I love seeing the company do well. I’m addicted to watching sales come in. Through all the stress, I just focus on the work.”
Looking ahead, Harry plans to expand even further, saying: “We’re now offering bulk purchases of tiles for DIY enthusiasts who want to fit out their own garages.
“We’re also replacing garage doors to help homeowners improve their curb appeal.”
Harry meanwhile credits his young family as his biggest motivation.
“I met my wife 12 years ago, and we’ve been married for eight years,” he said.
“Our son, Tommy, just turned three. Everything I’m building is for them.
“Working hard means we can have experiences like trips to Vegas and Dubai, and we can take our son to Disney. Tommy is our biggest fan and loves wearing the Garage Style merch.”
When asked about the easiest way someone can upgrade their garage on a budget, Harry’s advice is simple: “We always start from the floor up. It makes the biggest difference in a garage’s appearance and helps reduce dust, which is a common issue in most garages.
“It’s an affordable way to completely transform a space.”
