Lorry driver charged after crash that left cyclist dead

A 61-year-old lorry driver has been charged following a crash in East Dunbartonshire earlier this year that left a cyclist dead.

The incident involving a lorry and a cyclist happened at about 8.10am on March 19 on Drymen Road, at the junction with Manse Road, in Bearsden.

The cyclist, a 56-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The lorry driver has been arrested and charged with road traffic offences, and will appear in court in due course.
