Pilot, 81, dead after light plane crash

A pilot has died after a light plane crashed in Kinross.

Emergency services were called to the scene at an airfield near Scotlandwell, near Glenrothes, at about 1.40pm on Monday.

Police said that the pilot, an 81-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one else was injured in the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “The Air Accidents Investigation Branch has been informed and inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
