Jovan Malcolm made it two goals in as many games while Luke Hannant scored twice from the penalty spot as Gateshead won 3-1 at Solihull to climb to fourth in the National League table.
Solihull goalkeeper Ollie Wright produced an important save in the opening minute to keep the scores level but he could not prevent Malcolm from putting the visitors ahead after four minutes.
The hosts pushed for an equaliser and had a chance two minutes into the second half when some good Gateshead defending saw a shot deflected onto the roof of the net after a long throw.
Hannant then sent Gateshead 2-0 up with a retaken penalty in the 59th minute after Wright had saved the initial effort, before converting a second penalty five minutes before the end.
Fletcher Holman slotted home a consolation goal in added time for Solihull.
