Blackpool and Wigan share points in Bloomfield Road battle

Blackpool and Wigan held each other to a 1-1 draw at Bloomfield Road in a battle between two League One strugglers.

Olly Casey edged the Seasiders in front in the early exchanges before Owen Moxon levelled things ahead of the break.

Beyond that, neither side could find that clear moment of quality to secure a win, leaving the picture similar for both at the bottom end of the third tier.

The breakthrough came after just three minutes, with Casey winning an aerial duel in the box to head home a Jordan Brown free-kick.

Wigan produced their equaliser just before half-time when a low driven shot from Moxon was able to find the bottom corner from the edge of the area.

Following the restart, Joe Taylor came close to edging the visitors in front, with the forward striking the inside of the post from a tight angle after a great run into the box from the left.

Down the other end, Brown forced Sam Tickle into a save in Blackpool’s best chance of the second half.
