Tommy Leigh scored two late goals as Bristol Rovers fought back to beat Crewe 2-1 in League Two.
Leigh thumped a header in at the back post after 87 minutes to equalise Alfie Pond’s 18th-minute opener for Crewe.
It was Leigh’s first goal for Rovers after signing on January transfer deadline day, and his second arrived just five minutes later as he smashed past Ian Lawlor at the near post.
The late Rovers goals were deserved for a much-improved second-half showing after Crewe dominated the first half, with Tommi O’Reilly influential.
The on-loan winger had cut a low cross back from the byline after 18 minutes for Pond’s initial shot to be saved by Rovers goalkeeper Brad Young.
But the ball then rebounded against the Crewe defender to nestle in the corner of the Pirates’ goal in a game of few clear-cut chances.
