Youngster David Kamara scored his first two goals for Peterborough as they emphatically ended their winless run in Sky Bet League One with a 5-0 hammering of struggling Rotherham.
This was mid-table Posh’s first victory in six games and it pushed the Millers closer to relegation as they fell six points adrift of safety.
Peterborough led after 17 minutes when Rotherham captain Joe Rafferty could not cut out Harley Mills’ long ball, leading to Kyrell Lisbie sliding his shot into the far corner.
The Posh were comfortable at the break after doubling their lead in the 40th minute when Archie Collins’ free-kick was headed in by Jimmy-Jay Morgan.
Kamara’s two goals both came from the penalty spot as he converted via a post in the 68th minute after Lenny Agbaire tripped Lisbie before the 20-year-old slammed his second down the middle eight minutes later after Jamal Baptiste brought down Cian Hayes.
The rout was completed in the 81st minute when Collins finished through Rotherham goalkeeper Ted Cann’s legs after receiving Declan Frith’s pass.
