Road near Tullamore town centre closed as pedestrian crossing works continue

New pedestrian crossing at Convent View to be located near Kilbeggan bridge
A ROAD near Tullamore town centre is closed this morning as work continues there on the erection of a new pedestrian crossing.
Traffic is being diverted from Convent View onto Park Avenue, Callary St and Davitt St as work nears completion on the pedestrian crossing.
The crossing will be located close to Kilbeggan bridge and the adjacent footbridge over the Grand Canal.
Work is also continuing on the new footpaths on Kilbeggan bridge which will result in the width of the roadway on the bridge being reduced.
