Take to the Waterford Greenway for fight against homelessness

Pump up your tyres and hit the Waterford Greenway on the 29th July with Focus Ireland for ‘On the move’, a new series of fitness and adventure events, supported by Horizon Therapeutics, to raise vital funds for homeless services. Focus Ireland aims to support children and families currently facing homelessness in Ireland.

The Greenway will take cyclists through historic Waterford City to the beautiful seaside town of Dungarvan in West County Waterford. Participants will be able to take in the dramatic backdrop of the Comeragh Mountains as they journey across eleven bridges and three viaducts to the beaches of Waterford’s famed Copper Coast.

This event is part of a series where participants can raise funds for Focus Ireland’s vital services while experiencing the splendour that is the Waterford Greenway.

A record 12,259 people are currently experiencing homelessness in Ireland, including 3,594 children. In comparison to 9,825 people at the same time last year, homelessness is rapidly increasing, making this year’s efforts more important than ever.

So, stretch those legs and be active for change as part of ‘On the move’ for Focus Ireland, by taking part in a challenge, or organise your very own challenge.

To register, go to onthemove.focusireland.ie, select your challenge/s, join as an individual or a team, and pay your registration fee to secure your place. All participants will receive an ‘On the move’ t-shirt, fundraising materials, and support to help them reach their fundraising goals.
