68-year-old pleads guilty to historical indecent assault charges at Derry Crown Court

The 68-year-old who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim in the case appeared facing 12 charges of indecent assault on a female

A man has pleaded guilty to historical indecent assault charges at Derry Crown Court.

The 68-year-old who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim in the case appeared facing 12 charges of indecent assault on a female.

All of the charges were said to have taken place on dates between August 13, 1975 and August 16, 1979.

When the charges were put to the defendant he pleaded guilty to them all.

A pre-sentence report was ordered and the defendant was released on bail and will be sentenced in November.

The defendant was told he would have to sign the Sex Offender's Register and the period would be determined at the sentencing hearing.
