A warning is issued over dangerous tumble dryers manufactured over the past ten years

Thousands of people have discovered their tumble dryer is seriously dangerous after a recall was issued by Whirlpool.
A problem was discovered after Whirlpool acquired Hotpoint, Indesa and Creda and conducted a safety review.
It was discovered that in some cases, excess fluff can come into contact with a heating element in the dryer and start a fire.
Whirlpool has now issued a recall on two models manufactured between April 2004 and September 2015.
Dublin Fire Brigade also issued a warning for certain dryers, advising people not to use the dryers affected.
You can check if your dryer is affected here.
If you have one of the faulty models, unplug the machine and call Whirlpool, who will arrange for the dryer to be modified so that it's no longer dangerous.
