Building sites are not playgrounds - Cllr Shauna Cusack

Concerns have been expressed following the discovery that young children are playing on a building site at Ard Grange above Grangemore.

Local councillor Shauna Cusack was alerted to the issue through a message to the MORE Community Facebook page.

"The Ard Grange resident was extremely concerned as she witnessed very young children playing on scaffolding and putting themselves at risk on the site and was extremely concerned that there could be a serious accident," she said.

"This neighbourhood is full of young families and as children are naturally curious they are attracted to building sites as they represent fun and adventure, however they are anything but.

"Given the Easter break more children are about the streets and I would urge parents to caution them on the dangers of building sites and make sure they avoid this area completely. Meanwhile I will be contacting the builder to see what can be done to prevent access to the works," she said.
