Filmmakers aged 16–30 can submit short films for this year’s festival in August

Féile Derry has launched an open call for local filmmakers aged 16–30 to submit short films for this year’s festival in August.

'Next Up' is seeking original short films across fiction, animation, or documentary, with a maximum length of 20 minutes.

Féile’s Ruairí Campbell said: “Next Up is about giving up-and-coming filmmakers a platform to share their work and the opportunity to have it showcased at Derry’s largest community arts festival.

“We want to support and celebrate the huge amount of talent and creativity that we have in Derry, which was reflected in the huge volume of entries we received last year.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to show your film to a wider audience, and I would encourage anyone with something to submit to send it in. Good luck!”
